School rocked by breast cancer again...
Donation protected
Just 1 month after losing one of their own to breast cancer, the teachers and staff of Franklin Academy Charter school once again have one of their own diagnosed with breast cancer. Cathe Labott, their new school Registrar now faces the same battle, and none of her friends and coworkers plan to lose anyone again.
Cathe is a wife, mother of a 13-year-old son, and caregiver to her disabled mother. That is just at home. At work, she oversees all the records of about 1100 students and incoming prospective families.
The diagnosis: Stage 2 breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma).
The treatments: (About 1,100 per treatment.)
There will be 4 treatments every 3 weeks for about 6 months. $35,200
Then there will be 2 treatments every 3 weeks for about 6 months. $17,600
$52,800 to start.
Then…
Surgery on her breasts and lymph nodes. (Cost still pending)
About 6 months of radiation for 10 minutes a day. (Cost still pending)
The outlook looks good if all goes well, but the toll financially and physically will be tough. Financial help can help her not worry as much, and keeping stress away is one of the best ways to heal. So, her friends started this GO FUND ME account to help offset the costs that the insurance of a school worker can’t cover. She CAN beat this.
