Hi! I'm Krista.

My sister-in-law, Jenny, goes in for surgery tomorrow at 6am.

When she comes out of surgery, she will have two fewer breasts and a huge pile of medical bills.

Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and will be undergoing a double mastectomy.

Jenny is my brother's best friend and his wife of more years than I can even remember. She is an amazing mom to my three talented, kind and creative nephews. She is an A's fan, a geyser gazer, a dancer, a traveler, and a friend, and I have no doubt that she will get to the other side of this with the grace and tenacity with which she lives her everyday life.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where caring for medical needs, even with insurance, does not come cheap, and this procedure (as well as the care to follow) will leave her family in a very difficult financial position.
