Breaking Through! An educational life experience

Hi, My name is Julissa. I am a NYC teacher, as well as a full time college student at Brooklyn college and a full time mother to my wonderful 13 year old daughter! Like others I have gone through ups and lots of downs in life that have weighed on me heavily.
A couple of months ago a family member called me and shared with me how a program has changed her life. I myself noticed a difference in her and her surroundings. I did not know what I was signing up for. I was resistant and just did not want to do it but because of who I was well I didn't know how to stand up for myself and say no! Needless to say today I'm glad I didn't say no! I did the first part of this experiential educational, life altering program and I am beyond happy (not a mask of happy anymore, a real genuine happy), I feel an openness I have not felt for years and a willingness to do it all without fear! I was able to realize through the program that my cousin truly and genuinely loves me, loves me enough to support me in this way to bring this wonderful experience into my life.
I have made strides in my life that have felt great to accomplish, like becoming a bilingual teacher and being in the classroom. Graduating college with honors and other high achievements, as well as those diplomas! I have passed my NYC state teaching tests and have one big one left! I have moved and finally have a place of our own. Unfortunately I have run into serious financial issues. They have placed stress on me but I have handled with grace and positivity.
There is a 2nd part to the program that I am committed to being a part of and continuing the work on myself, for myself, my child, my family, friends, the strangers I meet everyday and mostly the students that will come into my classroom! They deserve it just as much as I do!
I am forming this campaign to ask for support in raising the money to pay for the 2nd part of the program and continue to bring forth this me that I have been searching for. The program is an educational, hands on, self development workshop that works in 3 parts. It has made me aware of how I can serve myself better and those around me in ways that have been profoundly impactful. I also got to meet and know the most incredible group of people from all walks of life within this experience.
I will be tending to the garden within me! I am committed to it! This program has altered the way I look at myself, speak about myself and the world around me. Imagine what I will accomplish in Part 2!
