Hello!

I’m Nelle, a 23 year old Lancashire born and bred lass who has recently made the move to Manchester — a city I’ve always dreamed of calling home.

I’ve always been intrigued about women’s health and breaking the stigma surrounding periods. Menstruation is a completely natural bodily function, yet for so many people, it remains surrounded by shame, silence and, far too often, financial barriers.

My passion for this issue even shaped my Sociology degree dissertation, where I explored the “double stigma” of both having a period and being unable to afford the products needed to manage one. My research went on to receive an award for its contribution to the university, which only strengthened my belief that period poverty is a crisis that deserves far more awareness, education and action.

That’s why I’ve teamed up with the social enterprise I volunteer with, The Crimson Wave, a non-profit organisation on a mission to provide FREE period products and deliver inclusive, honest and empowering education across Greater Manchester.

And what better way to raise awareness and much-needed funds than by completely throwing myself out of my comfort zone and taking on a challenge that a younger me would never have imagined doing!

I’m incredibly excited (and slightly terrified considering I am a complete beginner) to be doing this for a cause I genuinely care so deeply about.

If you’d like to support me and help The Crimson Wave continue providing essential period products and education to those who need them, I’d be so grateful for any donation — big or small. Every contribution can help make a real difference. ❤️

Let’s break the stigma, tackle period poverty and make sure nobody has to go without the essentials they need!

Thank you for supporting me and this incredibly important cause!
