Breaking away from cancer - A JMAC story
Donation protected
STL native Justin Maciekowicz is known to carry the load when it comes to cycling. If you've ever been in a breakaway with him you know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, this year Justin became very anemic with his iron levels dropping to all time lows. After many doctor visits and iron supplements it wasn't getting better. Breathing issues surfaced and after a scan it was found that he had a large mass on his lung. Luckily the doctor Justin began working with acted quickly and did a biopsy. The diagnosis is that he's dealing with lymphoma and appears to be Hodgkin's. He will begin chemo treatments within the next two weeks for 4-6 months. Although he has good medical insurance, there will be substantial out of pocket costs that his family will need assistance with. Any donation would be greatly appreciated to help them carry the financial load they are about to face.
