Recently, my apartment was broken into by people who had been living there for 7 days while I was searching for a new job after being unexpectedly laid off. They took everything, leaving me with nothing.

They stole all of my clothes, shoes and bags (including my own sheets and linens) and put their own clothes. Hacked into my internet. They took my important documents, including my birth certificate and Social Security card. They took valuables and electronics that I depended on daily, including my computer, TV and WiFi router. On top of my music equipment and speakers. Things I worked very hard for alone.

They also took my food, my cat Nena’s food and supplies, my hygiene and hair products, and even items belonging to my daughter Nalani, her clothes and baby shower gifts including family pictures and shrines.

I was targeted in this situation, and despite it being clearly their fault, my apartment complex is refusing to take responsibility or offer any help. They have not worked with me to get me out of my lease or provided support during this crisis, leaving me to handle all the fallout alone.

They even stole my sheets and bedding, destroyed my couch, adding to the many things I now have to replace to feel safe and comfortable in my own home again. This break-in has left me in a really tough spot financially and emotionally. I’m asking for your help to replace these essential items and cover immediate living expenses, including travel to care for my daughter and essentials for my beloved cat, Nena.

Any money donated will help me obtain my important documents, food, Nalanis travel expenses from VA to GA, hygiene products, court fees, etc.,
