We move with memory. We dance with imagination. Marimba is freedom in motion: a community without borders, a rhythm of care and connection.
On October 22 at NEXT NDSM, Marimba Amsterdam gathers in that same spirit; for a night of sound, dialogue and resistance. Together, we raise funds for Radio Dabanga, the independent Sudanese radio station that continues to speak when the world chooses silence.
Sudan is facing one of the deepest humanitarian crises of our time. Entire communities displaced. Starvation used as a weapon. The internet cut, communication blocked, truth buried. In this blackout, Radio Dabanga remains one of the last independent voices, broadcasting verified news and human stories from its base in Amsterdam. For millions across Sudan and the diaspora, it is a lifeline: a frequency of truth and resistance.
But that signal is in danger.
Without urgent support, Radio Dabanga will go offline by January 1st, 2026. We refuse to let that happen.
Your contribution keeps Radio Dabanga on air. It sustains journalists who risk their safety to share the truth. It helps protect an independent voice that connects the Sudanese people to each other and to the world. This is not charity. It’s solidarity. It’s standing with those who are silenced, and ensuring their words continue to reach beyond the blackout.
Breaking the Silence for Sudan takes place on October 22, 2025 at NEXT NDSM in Amsterdam, in collaboration with Radio Dabanga and Marimba during Amsterdam Dance Event. An evening of conversation, music and art in resistance; a space where rhythm meets responsibility, and where every act, every beat, builds towards freedom.
Give what you can. Share what you know. Keep Radio Dabanga alive.
