Oh hi everyone!
My name is Adrienne Farley, I have created this gofundme for my incredibly strong sister Breanne Farley. For the past five years she has been fighting a deadly autoimmune disease called Primary Biliary Cholangitis. It has taken every ounce of her strength to fight this, and it has made it impossible for her to lead a normal life. She has tried every medical avenue to cope, but sadly, she now must resort to a liver transplant. Liver transplants are only completed in Toronto, and so I have set up this gofundme page to help offset some of the expenses that my family will incur throughout this process. This will also help with expenses of her live donor and family (when we find a match).
Although some of the costs of the transplant are covered by insurance, there are many expenses that we will incur, including relocation and accommodation of my family in order to be near the transplant center in Toronto, along with other transportation expenses. After surgery, my sister is expected to stay in Toronto for close monitoring to ensure the transplant is not rejected, which will not be covered by insurance. Other expenses include anti-rejection medications that are upwards of $5000 a month, and follow-up medical care after receiving a transplant for the rest of her lifetime.
In this uncertain time, my family is reaching out for your support in any amount you can. Your contribution will help support her journey and ease the burdens our family is now facing.
