Hello, my name is Bre I am raising money to cover expenses for my cat, Butterball. On April 18th, I took her to the vet because she was peeing blood. That day, they did a urinalysis and took an x-ray. The x-ray showed no crystals, but the urinalysis came back positive for a UTI. My vet gave me a 10 day course of a broad spectrum anti-biotic. I gave this to her, but she is still peeing frequently and dribbling, with dark colored urine. I took her to the vet again on May 2nd, where they took urine cultures. The results came back showing no new growths. She is still urinating frequently, as much as 12 times over 12 hours. I know this because I track how much she goes to the litter box with my Furbo. The next step is to get an ultrasound, and if that does not show the problem, I will be referred to internal medicine. I was given a prescription urinary tract diet for her in the meantime while I wait for an appointment to become available. I’m hoping to raise money for everything I have already paid for, as well as future expenses. The cost estimate for the ultrasound was $400-$500.
I do have a “special care” plan for butterball through my vet to cover costs, as well pet insurance through my work to help cover expenses. Still, this is all adding up very quickly. I’ve included pictures of the invoices, including the price I paid for a radiologist consultation, the antibiotic, the urine cultures, and the prescription diet.
I got butterball off of a Facebook group called Pittsburgh pet helpers, after she had been taken by a TNR group (clipped ear shown in photos) and the owners could no longer keep her, but no shelters or fosters could take her because of overcrowding. I’ve had her for just about a year, and am trying to make sure she gets all the help she needs. Any help is much appreciated.
