Brazilian Floods Fundraiser in Canberra, Australia

Flooding caused by rainfall and overflowing rivers in southern Brazil has resulted in an unprecedented level of devastation, claiming many lives and leaving hundreds of people still missing.

It is the worst natural disaster in the history of the state, perhaps, one of the biggest in the history of Brazil.

The rainfall continues to leave the city without water and in darkness.

Thousands of people have lost their homes, food, and basic resources for living.

Now, those affected are seeking a safe haven for their families.

Animals have also been severely affected, many losing their lives and thousands still stranded on the rooftops of houses, awaiting rescue without food and water.

Brazil needs our help, donations, and prayers.

Our group is gathering efforts from the Brazilian community in Canberra to fundraise and collect donations to help the victims across the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Who we are:

Rafaela P Cosma - from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, but living in Australia for just under 10 years now. I have family and friends that have been direct or indirectly affected and am keen to help.
Dioni Bee - hairdresser from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, in Australia with my wife and 2 kids. We have lots of friends and family involved helping rescuing people on the front line in Porto Alegre!
Luana Terribile Bee - from Aratiba, Rio Grande do Sul but lived in Porto Alegre for 15 years and living in AU for almost 8 years now. I have family and friends there and they need our help!
Natalia Reis - born in São Paulo, capital, has lived in Australia for 4 years to study. Rio Grande do Sul was hit by a catastrophe and needs help. The situation in Rio Grande do Sul is truly worrying, and international solidarity is in action to help the victims.
Raquel - from Paraná, I live in Australia for 17 years with my husband and my daughter, I am deeply touched by the devastation caused by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. I want to be part of this cause as I believe together we can make a real impact into people’s life. ‘Nothing is too small to help those in need’.
