Time to expand!!!
We´re so excited to see what God has been doing here! Yep, it happened again! Our building (purchased less than 3 years ago) has gotten small again! Even with two services every Sunday, during our second service, our space is maxed out!
So, we´ve launched a new capital campaign to expand the current building! This phase will add over 6000 sq. ft. of new space to our current building, a new men´s restroom, air-conditioning units for our sanctuary (we need them badly!!), and a few other updates to the building.
This expansion is Phase 1 (of 3) that will allow us to:
- Fully enclose our church lobby (today we have a roof, no walls)
- Create new administrative offices space (no longer having the team spread out)
- Finally cool our sanctuary appropriately (no more fanning ourselves with bulletins during the service!)
- Prepare the way to expand our sanctuary from 530 to 800 seats
We´re hoping to finish this phase in one year, and then move on to Phase 2 in 2026.
Our Christian preschool is in the works
We´ve long had a desire to open a Christian School in our town. A school that will teach Christian values unencumbered by the ever-more-liberal agenda that has taken over the Brazilian education system.
The parents in our city are crying out for that, and we know it will be a massive evangelism tool to reach families in our city.
In a recent conversation with the secretary of education of our town, she affirmed that our school will be the most sought after school in town because of the good testimony our church has in town.
As for the school, there are still a lot of logistical and bureaucratic hoops to jump through, but we´re pressing on, encouraged by other churches in Brazil that have done the same.
Peace Park
Yep, we´re also trying to create a park that would be open to the public on our property!
God has given us a property right off the main road, in the most populated neighborhood in town, and believe it or not: our neighborhood doesn´t have a park, or a walking trail, not a space for parents to teach their kids to ride a bike!
So, we´re planning on turning part of our property into a park that is open to the public!
The park will have:
- A walking and running lanes
- A kid´s play area with swings, slides, and climbing structures
- Shelters for small family gatherings/meals
- Public bathrooms and rest area
- A sensory garden
- A sand volleyball court
- Lighting throughout so it can be used at night
Funding for this park is coming from the Federal Government, through a branch that supports community projects. Please pray for the funding to be secured.
Since the Lord gave us this property, we´ve always wanted it to be “a campus to bless our city”, and the opening of this park will meet a real need in our community that for years has gone unanswered.
