The funds you donate will directly help my parents, Steve and Amy Braz, who were affected by the tornadoes that ripped through the Holly Hills community in Chattanooga, TN late Easter Sunday night, April 12, 2020. The tornadoes destroyed the home of Steve, Amy, and their beloved pet birds Stan, Zoey, and Draco.
My mom was in the hospital after a pancreatitis attack and heard the wind pounding on the windows of her patient room. When she turned on the news, she learned the tornado was on the ground in her neighborhood. Dad was asleep at home when the tornadoes hit and was woken by what he describes as a “train” right outside their home. He quickly got out of bed and laid in the floor as the house was torn apart around him, the birds in a panic.
By the grace of God, my dad emerged unharmed from their home of 30 years but, unfortunately, their cockatiel Draco didn’t make it through the storm. The damage to the house I grew up in is immense. My mom was discharged from the hospital Tuesday, April 14th and came home to a house she barely recognized. Over the past few days, my family has been working tirelessly to pick up the pieces.
Currently my family resides at a hotel in Ooltewah, TN. Luckily, I have been able to to assist my family in cleaning up and collecting their salvageable belongs, as they are uncertain when they will get their lives back to normal. However, their is still much to be done.
The money raised will directly fund the Braz family to help get them back on their feet.
