Brayson’s Story: A Plea for Help

Brayson, the son of Jacob and Sarah Williams, was born the youngest of his two siblings and was eventually diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 2 ½. His sister also received a diagnosis at the age of 2. Brayson had words at 1 ½ years old but regressed in language shortly after.

Sarah and Jacob Williams have done everything they can to help their child become successful through early intervention therapies—ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy—alongside alternative medicine practices ranging from functional medicine, naturopathy, and homeopathic approaches, and beyond.

We are asking for your help because time is running out. Each year that passes is critical as we try countless interventions to help Brayson. Along this road, we have been hit with roadblocks and standstills when it comes to accessing additional support and treatments.

Brayson is now 5 and cannot advocate for himself. He cannot use his words, cannot dress himself, is not potty trained, cannot ride a bike, cannot color, and more.

Recently, we came across a life-changing procedure that could transform Brayson’s future: Stem Cell Therapy. This therapy has been around for over 60 years and is FDA-approved for other illnesses. However, due to the red tape around autism treatments, it could take 17+ years for insurance to approve it, meaning the entire cost must come out of pocket. Studies show a 65–75% chance that this treatment could be life-altering for Brayson.

We humbly come to friends, family, and our community to please help us give our son a chance at a better life in a world that can often be so cruel and lacking understanding of this disability. We are not trying to change who our son is—we love him dearly. Our goal is to give him the tools to live a meaningful, independent life when we are no longer here to care for him.

Due to the level of care Brayson requires, I (Sarah) am unable to work outside the home. My husband is the sole provider for our family. He has encouraged me to move forward with this procedure no matter the cost because Brayson deserves every opportunity—but the reality is that we cannot afford it on our own.

These donations will help lift a tremendous burden and give Brayson a real shot at progress. We have faith that God will heal and provide the way—but we also know we must do everything in our power to try.
