Brayson's Fight: Your Support Matters
Donation protected
I am writing this on behalf of my sister Megan and her family. On Friday, December 27th, after waking from a nap, Brayson complained of a headache, feeling dizzy, and his arm tingling. Megan and Brandon took a trip to the emergency room to see what was causing his symptoms. It quickly became an emergency as the doctors found Brayson was having a stroke (CVA). He was taken via ambulance to University of Iowa Children’s Hospital immediately and has been in the PICU. Brayson has gone through more tests and scans than most 6-year-olds and takes it in stride. Upon admission, they found he has had a total of 4 strokes; a couple old, a couple new. The team of doctors he has have been diligent in finding where the origin of the problem is. Yesterday, December 31st, Brayson had a TEE to see his heart structure and it was found he has blood clots in his heart. This is good news; however, still not many answers. The doctors know where the clots are coming from; however, not exactly why at this point. Brayson will continue to stay in the PICU until a more definitive answer/plan has been made.
Megan and Brandon have 2 other children and are trying to stay afloat while being present for Brayson. They are currently on a waiting list for the Ronald McDonald in Iowa City. Anything you can help with during this time would be greatly appreciated ❤️
