Brayleigh Means Hope

Donation protected
Our miracle girl continues to amaze us all every single day with her sheer strength, drive, and determination. Bray's zest for life is obvious in her beautiful smile and fiery eyes. Julianna and Renzo LOVE watching Bray transform and grow, as do the rest of us. It has most definitely been a team effort between Bray's parents, her beyond amazing surgeon and medical team, and their village to get our girl to this next crossroad. Over this last year+, Bray has thrived, has impressed her medical team, and continues to pass all expectations 10x over. That's our girl!

Julianna has been able to remain home with Brayleigh, as she is Bray's caregiver 24/7 and Renzo is happily with his girl all hours he isn't working. We believe Bray has thrived as well and as long as she has due to Renzo and Julianna's sheer determination and concentration to do the best they can for their daughter. Brayleigh's health overall is In a stable and strong place which is where we want her to be for her shunt replacement surgery that is happening next week, June 29th.

The amount of time and effort that is put into our Brayleigh Girl living her best possible life at this point is unimaginable to some. Julianna takes Brayleigh thru her telehealth therapy appointments 4x a week. Bray is receiving speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational/feeding therapy, and Early Intervention therapy. Each therapy session is an hour long and then homework/practice time is sprinkled in multiple times a day, everyday for another 5+ hours a week, at least.

Bray's UCLA specialists appointments are a few times a month, there are days we drive in for lab work, and then there's also our normal pediatrician checkups that keep our schedule full. Especially during the flu season when we go I  once a month for a Synergis injection to help protect against RSV. Including travel time, it could easily take 40-50 hours a month for all of Bray's different appointments.

Julianna's days are also filled with making phone calls to refill prescriptions, battle with insurance, schedule return visits, gtube/medical supply ordering, and whatever else that may get thrown her way. All while watching a super busy and active toddler! This medical life is definitely a full-time job keeping everything moving for Bray. It may be exhausting at times but Renzo and Julianna are honored to do all that they can for their strong girl, and will continue to do so.

Since the plan is now to do shunt replacement surgery, Brayleigh's heart transplant doctor wants her to make a full recovery before listing her for heart transplant. Bray more than likely will not be officially listed for a heart till August, at the earliest. In the meantime, Team Saenz stays on track with getting their strong girl all ready.

With Bray's health conditions requiring constant monitoring, Julianna cannot work outside the home. The funds raised from the gofundme will help aid in Bray's medical costs. Some of the things it will help with are out of pocket expenses like gas, food, lodging, and parking. Renzo will also have to be taking time off work, which will also make an impact on their monthly income.

Brayleigh is such a strong and feisty little warrior. She has hit several milestones, in her own time, over the last 20+ months. Bray is currently furniture surfing like a pro! She loves to stand up on her own and cruise the living room any chance she gets. She is so very close to taking off and walking on her own. She especially loves to look out the windows and screen door, watching her pups is also a top priority. Bray is so determined to be participating in life. She loves music and to be sung to, Bray's face lights up and she gets so very excited when her daddy walks in, and she simply just loves to play and smile. Watching this girl is such a joy!

Your prayers and well wishes are always welcomed for Team Saenz, especially our warrior princess. Feel free to share this link and as always, Renzo and Julianna are so very thankful for their village.
