On Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:50pm Braydon became unresponsive and began having seizures. He was first rushed by ambulance to Monticello Hospital where he was incubated, sedated, and given medication to stop the seizures. Shortly thereafter,he was transferred by ambulance to St. Paul Children's Hospital. After CT scans, and Xrays, the doctors determined that Braydon had bleeding on the brain (with swelling), along with fluid on the right hemisphere of the brain. A neurologist came and determined that Braydon needed to have emergency brain surgery, to reduce the swelling and drain the blood and fluid from the brain. During surgery, they removed a portion of the right side of his skull and placed it in liquid nitrogen to preserve it. The surgery went as well as expected, but the doctor said that he saw no signs of structural damage, aneurysm or blood vessel damage. Braydon was hooked up to an EEG machine to monitor seizure activity and brain waves, along with monitoring the swelling of his brain. Braydon was put on top of cooling blankets to maintain his body temperature to avoid any fevers after the surgery. He is receiving pain medication, anti seizure medication, medication to keep him sedated in an induced coma like state, and extra salt/sodium to help with the swelling. They want the swelling to be below 20, and shortly after surgery it was as low as 3. Later that night it got as high as 30. His vitals were strong all day. They are trying to keep his brain as calm as possible with low lighting and minimal stimulation. Doctors say he is in a very critical state right now, and the first 72hrs are the most critical. We need to raise money to help with gas expenses, bills, and anything braydon needs with his recovery process. Anything helps, and we would greatly appreciate it! Thank you and God Bless!
