Help Brayan with chemo and radiation bills

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sophie Kagan, and I have created this fundraiser for my student named Brayan.

Brayan's journey has been challenging. When coming to America at the age of 4, he was taken away at the border from his family and put into foster care for six months. With the help of others, Brayan's parents were able to find him and bring him home to Texas. Three years later, he was diagnosed with stage 3 Lymphoma.

In 2021 at six years old, Brayan got very sick with the flu. He developed a cough, and his mom took him to the doctor to be examined. The doctor told Brayan's family that it was a minor infection on the throat and sent him home with some antibiotics. The antibiotics helped with the cough, but Brayan developed a small ball of tissue forming on his neck within four weeks. Brayan's family took him back to the doctor, and they told them that his glands were inflamed from the cough. They gave him a different medication, but that did not help.

Summer of 2021, Brayan started second grade at Austin Achieve. The ball on his neck began to get bigger, and he went to the emergency room in October 2022 and right away with diagnosed with Stage 3 Lypmohima. Brayan had to start Chemotherapy right away and it took a toll on his body. However, Brayan kept in good spirits and was just excited to go back to school in the spring. In April 2022, Brayan finished chemotherapy and was getting ready to go back to school. Around Spring break this year, Brayan's mom was told that the cancer had spread into parts around his heart and his kidney and needed to start radiation as soon as possible. Brayan is a little champ and started radiation and kept his little smile on his face going through it. Brayan's family did not have transportation to radiation and with the help from the school they were able to get to all his appointments. Brayan needed 9 rounds of radiation for two weeks straight.

Brayan and his family has had a very challenging year. The medical bills don't stop and their family is struggling finically. I was brought into their lives as a homebound teacher and have spent 4-5 days a week with Brayan since January 2022. I am sharing their families story to help them support and get them though this tough time.

Brayan loves baby yoda, playing soccer, eatting sushi and ramen, and math. Brayan is one of the brightest and happiest little boys I know. He was born to do great things. He will get through this and will come out stronger than ever. Brayan has just finished his last round
of radiation and is waiting to hear his results. Please donate if you can to support his family and keep Brayan in your prayers.
