Hi there, so thankful you stumbled across this little blog/fundraising I am doing for my family. Here is a wittle about who I am & how God is moving in my life and my growing family.
My name is Laura Daigle, I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I loved my childhood. So many of my memories from growing up happened at my church. We always had so much fun at Vacation Bible Schools in the summer, youth mission trips, or church camps. My parents always spoke about Jesus, and I began to learn about him at a very early age.
Fast forwarding to 2014, God gave me one of my greatest gifts, MY HUSBAND. Stephen Daigle changed my name, increased my faith, and helped me open my eyes to see the world in a different lens.
You see India has always been a huge part of my husbands heart. Thankfully my handsome husband is a God fearing man, who is a pastor at our local church and serves on a daily bases. He is the missions pastor and college young adult pastor at our church. Our hearts are to make Jesus known by are daily life's and walk on this earth. I believe people should see Jesus in you without you having to say one word.
Fast forwarding 2016, we are now parents by the grace of God to a handsome boy, Taj Paul Daigle. Born in the month of February, the month of love, our baby boy is teaching us a deeper love. The love, patience, mercy, and grace is on another level. There is nothing he can do to decrease our love for him.. And that blows my mind because I know for a fact I am only understanding a little glimpse of Gods love for me (& you).
This new season of parenthood has been one of the most exhausting yet rewarding moments of our lives. Stephen and I have learned another level of "teamwork."
Our greatest goal in life is to raise God fearing children that have God at the center of their lives. Stephen and I have a heart for the mission field. (Both in our local community and also around the world). We have the opportunity to fly to India with baby Taj and lead a group of 14 people this December 2016 (many of whom it will be their first mission trip), but really need your help. As many of you are aware, babies ain't cheap (haha), as we would say down in the south. With the India mission trip only a few weeks away, I know I am really pushing to raise as much money as I can to get my little family to Nagaland, India debt free.
Many might be asking yourselves, 'why not stay behind and send only my husband' or 'why bring baby Taj with y'all??' Here is our goal and I believe, our God given mindset.
I believe, that raising Taj to love without boundaries and live without fears of the unknown are one of the best gifts we can give him as parents. Many people who are parenting little ones or moms who are raising young worriers might consider themselves "unqualified" to serve in the mission field WITH & ALONG SIDE their little ones or families. That is a lie from the enemy! You can serve on the mission field in any season of your life, whether single, married, or with kids. Yes always of course, with care and precautions.
Sometimes as parents we shield our little ones and make them comfortable in their environment. Being conformed into the image of Jesus is not a pretty process, because our kids are born into sin and God has messy, real work to do to transform them into disciples. This process involves sacrifice and courage!!!
We grow the most when we are pulled out our comfort zone. Children are the same. Our job is not to shield them from everything hard, but to parent them through it with wisdom and discernment. To raise brave kids it takes brave parents to show them the way.
We have been to India multiple times with Stephen and have worked with many churches. To go back to India with our baby boy would mean so much to the people we work so closely with all around the year but also the community here at home. To be a living testimony that God can and will use you at any age and in every season is such a valuable gift to leave in someone. And in this season I am learning how good and gracious God is regardless of what's going on in my life.
Thank you for praying and supporting us.
