Brave the shave - Flowers for Alice x

When the world went into lockdown at the start of 2020 we found out that my little sister has got breast cancer.

Cancer... er, what? It came out of no where, no family history, no bad habits that could have caused it - just bam! and there it is. Supporting someone through this during the pandemic was hard but we rallied around as a family and we got there - through chemo and radiotherapy until Alice was finally able to ring the bell to signal the end of her treatment.

Until April 2021 rolled around... just over a year since we found out that it was breast cancer we find out its back, already, and with a nasty kind of vengeance. Secondary breast cancer, so its spread... and that's terminal.

Alice is such an amazing person. She has been so brave and so wonderful throughout this whole experience. You wouldn't know she was fighting this horrible illness, she tries her best to not let it show.

But times are hard and limited now so things like a wedding don't get as much time to be planned out.

Its absolutely wonderful to be helping to plan my little sisters wedding to a man who has been an absolute rock these past months and I cannot even begin to say how happy I am for them both.

But due to ongoing treatment Alice is loosing her hair again and she's not going to feel right on her wedding day having had to shave her head. So I'm going to shave mine too! The bride and the maid of honor - bald and beautiful together.

I've put this little fundraiser together in the hope of gathering a bit of money that will allow us to have some really lovely head dresses made, especially for Alice, to wear on the special day. Not being able to have the image you've always dreamt of for your wedding sucks and I want to do everything I can to make her feel as beautiful as she is!
