Hello all, I am raising money for my friend and neighbor, Stephanie Nieves. I met Stephanie while we were out walking our dogs, and we became fast dog friends. She is a warm and friendly person who worked at a dog rescue until 2021 when she was diagnosed with her first cancer. Since 2021, every year, Stephanie has been diagnosed with an additional cancer and received treatments/surgeries. In December 2024, she was thrilled to ring the bell to celebrate being declared cancer-free. A mere six months later, however, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer.

Even after her diagnosis, she was working as a senior companion/driver for an 84-year-old lady in Pacific Palisades. On Jan. 7th of this year, Stephanie was with her client when the Palisades fire erupted. As soon as the evacuation order came in, Stephanie went into hero mode, sweeping through her client's home to grab essentials (medications and a few clothes), and hustling her client into the car to make their escape from the flames. It took them three harrowing hours to get down the burning hills and through the logjam of abandoned cars to safety.

Her client and client's family are forever grateful to Stephanie for her loyalty and bravery. Sadly, once she begins this latest immunotherapy treatment, she will be unable to work. This is where you can be her hero. This is an expensive treatment, and I am creating this GoFundMe page to help Stephanie afford her care.
