Supporting this amazing charity is vital because of the caring work they do. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff who provide care, support, stimulating activities fantastic food and amazing surroundings.
Caring for people is what they are amazing at and each person's needs are met without hesitation. Every visit I had with my Auntie, I saw the improvement in her overall wellbeing and health due to the attentive love and care she received.
Following 3 years of constant hospital admissions for my Auntie, who we all love and adore, Xmas and New Year was unbearable for her and for her family because she was in and out of hospital over festive periods and suffering massively, which affected the whole family.
When my Auntie was offered respite at St Ann's she was a little hesitant and uncertain but having hit her absolute rock bottom, she had nothing to loose and everything to gain. That first day I went to visit her I was in awe as she was sat waiting a prawn salad, ice cream for dessert and a glass of wine.......she looked like a different person, after only 1 day........amazing.
For the time my Auntie was in the hospice, which was around 3 months, she became more and more like her old self every day. The transformation in her health was amazing. She participated in arts and crafts and found talents she never realised she had and also a new found confidence in her abilities.
When she first arrived at St Ann's, the family were advised to expect the worse as she was on the end if life path. As you can imagine, we were all devastated but my brave Auntie remained positive and got through this with massive help and support from St Ann's. I firmly believe that my precious Auntie would not be with us now if this charity had not supported her and her family. My Auntie is still poorly but she has remained at home now for nearly 4 months.

St Ann's Hospice cares and helps around 3,000 patients (over the age of 16)and their families and carers every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses.
We deliver care that is special and unique to each individual person. Around 40% of inpatients at St Ann's Hospice return home after treatment.
