Brave Freeway Hero
Donation protected
On February 28, 2017 at approximately 9:30 pm, Marissa noticed a young girl attempting to push her disabled vehicle off the freeway, which had stalled out in the number two lane. Being a good samaritan, Marissa pulled over in front of young ladies car to assist her in getting her car off of the freeeway and out of danger. Marrisa was under the front of the vehicle putting chains on, when another vehicle rear ended the disabled car that Marissa was under, trapping her under the vehicle. Approximately, fouty seconds prior to the impact, Marissa had instructed the young lady to get in her vehicle fearing for her safety as cars passed on the freeway. Had Marrisa not instructed her to do so, she more then likely would have been pinned between Marissa's car and hers.
Marissa is alive and undergoing multiple surgeries. She is now out of ICU where she spent approximatley a week. She is on her way to recovery with her strong spirit and her partner by her side.
Had it not been for Marissa's giving spirit, act of kindness and bravery this could be a much more tragic story.
Marissa is not able to work and provide for her family which includes 2 children (who were in the car at the time of the accident). The medical bills are mounting, as well as the normal monthly bills. Last time I was able to speak to her, the car she owns was still in the towing companies yard which costs $80.00 per day to store. Any money donated would be a huge help for this family as she recovers from what may be life long injuries.
This hero does not deserve to be burdened financially for having a good heart and helping out someone in need.
