Brave Emmy

My daughter, Emily has endured a very trying year after receiving genetic results. At age 26, she was diagnosed with BRCA1 and Ashkenazi gene. There is an 87% chance that she would develop breast cancer.  Many females on her father’s side developed the cancer along with ovarian cancer. Emily had a double mastectomy on November 1, 2018. A second surgery to remove scar tissue, 2 weeks ago and then yet another complication this week. She faces her ovaries out at age 35. There are two young female deaths in family history of ovarian cancer. She has experienced a great deal of pain and financial hardship as a result. She has been so valiant and still has manages  to keep smiling!
