Hi, and thank you so much for being here.
We're raising funds for our beautiful Butterfly, a true survivor who is now fighting for her life once again. Just a few months ago, our home tragically burned down, and we lost everything we owned. In the midst of the chaos, we ran back into the burning home multiple times to rescue our beloved pets, who were extremely traumatized. We got our dog. Both our kitties were screaming in terror, which thankfully guided us to Butterfly through the thick black smoke. Her sister, Lavender, and our turtle, Turtlie, were also thankfully rescued later by the fire department, which wouldn't allow us back in after they arrived. We are still reeling from the fire, having lost our home and all our belongings, and have been living in a hotel for the past few months.
Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago, our world was shaken again when Butterfly suddenly stopped eating and began hiding. We grew concerned and took her to the vet. After multiple visits to different veterinarians and spending thousands of dollars on diagnostics, we received the devastating news that our beautiful Butterfly is facing another life-threatening challenge. She has been diagnosed with intestinal lymphoma, an aggressive and serious form of cancer.
We initially started her on a steroid and oral chemotherapy, which we administered by syringe in our hotel room. However, this chemotherapy made her very sick; she vomited constantly and completely stopped eating. Unfortunately, the tumor continued to grow.
Her vet has now advised us that Butterfly needs urgent surgery to remove the aggressive mass. This will be followed by a more aggressive, injectable chemotherapy treatment to target any remaining cancer cells and prevent recurrence. Both of these life-saving treatments are incredibly expensive, and with the ongoing financial strain from the fire, our funds have been completely depleted just getting a diagnosis.
We haven't used this sort of platform before, but at this point, we really don't know what else to do. We are humbly asking for help to raise $11,000 to cover Butterfly’s critical care. According to the vet
– Surgery: approx. $5,000
– Chemotherapy: $500 per dose, once a week for 3 months
We're assuming taxes will still be added.
Butterfly is incredibly strong; she's only 9 years old, and she survived a house fire against the odds. She's still fighting with every ounce of her being. We want to give her a real chance to beat this, too, but we just can't do it alone.
If you can donate, no matter the amount, or if you can share Butterfly’s urgent story with your network, we would be deeply grateful. Every bit of support gets us closer to the treatment she urgently needs. We're running out of time.
Thank you so much for being a lifeline for Butterfly.
