Hey friends! Our names are Lloyd and Ally Bullock, and we are creating this GoFundMe to help support one of our best friends, Terry Braswell. All proceeds will go directly to Terry and his wife, Lauren to help them cover the financial burdens of medical treatment and bills as Terry continues his fight against stage four renal cancer.
On December 2nd, Terry and Lauren traveled to Tyler, Texas for a CT scan, after Terry began experiencing significant pain, exhaustion and weight loss. The CT revealed multiple large masses within Terry's lungs, and he was immediately referred to Northeast Texas Cancer and Research center for a PET scan.
On December 12th, Terry and Lauren received the results of the PET scan, which identified stage four renal cancer that has spread throughout his body. Terry has a large mass on his kidney that is inoperable, however, the cancer is treatable.
This news is sudden and overwhelming, and not the kind of revelation that you would ever expect for Christmas. The road to treatment and recovery is a long one for Terry, but we know that if there is one man on this earth that is strong enough to fight this and WIN, it is Terry Braswell.
We met Terry only a year and a half ago, but our bond with him and Lauren developed instantaneously and has only grown stronger since--and with good reason. You can be in Terry's presence for merely moments and know that Terry is a man of strength, character, compassion and an unending desire to support friends, family and even strangers in the best way he can. Terry served our country as a member of the United States Air Force, which is a testament to his determination, willingness to sacrifice and his loyalty. He and his family own Braswell Paint Company out of Tyler, where Terry has helped carry on the business his father started over sixty years ago. We know without a doubt, that Terry has the will and determination to win this fight.
Some of you may not know Terry, but I can guarantee you that if your need was explained to him, he would find any possible way to help--no questions asked. Terry is the type of gentleman you can expect to forever be a generous host, loyal friend, kind-hearted supporter and selfless champion for those that are weakest or facing the worst of the worst.
Whether it's giving his friend's sweet little girl twenty dollars and sending her off to her piggy bank because "that's his girl", covering someone who is struggling to pay their own bills to make ends meet, or stealing the dinner tab before you can even blink to make sure your evening is blessed, Terry has always been selfless and freely giving financially of support needed for anyone who asked, or even did not ask. He may come across as a hard-ass or grumpy, but the truth is that he would do anything for you and he would go to the ends of the earth for the people he loves most.
We are asking that in this time of uncertainty and fear for Terry and his wife Lauren, that all of you, our friends, family and community, rise up and support Terry through his battle against cancer, returning to him all of the love, loyalty, financial support, and sacrifice he has already given to so many.
We ask that you keep him in your daily prayers, donate what you can, and share this GoFundMe as much as possible, across all platforms so that we can spread the word and support for Terry as far and wide as possible. Terry gave us one stipulation for setting up this fundraiser for him: he would not accept a penny more than he needed to afford his medical bills and treatment. He wants any donations in excess to his needs to be donated to a cancer charity that helps other sufferers of cancer and their family. Even in his darkest moment, this great man was already thinking about helping other people.
We ask that you please help us financially support Terry in his fight against cancer, knowing that you are helping him pay for medical bills that have already accumulated, plus the ongoing cost of his treatment to see him healed and healthy. Every person and every donation is helpful and appreciated beyond words.
Terry, we love you more than a brother and we are in this fight with you--you will never go it alone. Your "support squad" is standing by, and we will all see you through to victory.
