I have been given full permission by the homeowners Dan and Shelly Brasseur to raise funds, and every penny raised will go to, and directly benefit and support my parents. This post will be prefaced by saying both of my parents are in good health after the emergency.

Between the late night of 12/5 and the early morning of 12/6 my mother and father (Dan and Shelly Brasseur) lost just about everything to a devastating housefire. It was the one my parents had when they got married decades ago, and the one my brother and I had nearly two decades of birthdays in. There were times in its life where we struggled to even keep it, and that has led to an incalculable measure of pride in our home for my parents when it was finally paid off a few years ago.

Money raised will go to food, clothing, temporary housing costs, pet supplies, and other basic necessities that were lost. My parents are both safe and have temporary housing lined up through the end of December. We are taking the necessary steps to rebuild, but it will be a slow and difficult process. 

Please be respectful to our family at this time, and understand that my mother and father are grieving in a unique way for all the memories. I would also like to take the time to thank the firefighters who risk their lives to help everyday, as two firefighters were entangled in our house while trying to escape. They called a mayday, and were safely evacuated and evaluated on site by medical staff to be okay.
