Brandy's Journey: Overcoming Loss

Please support my bonus daughter in raising money to cover expenses associated with her beloved mom, who passed away on June 24, 2025. Her daughter, Brandy Herrin, is a single mother, and her mom passed away leaving some debt without any life insurance. Every little bit helps and every donation is greatly appreciated.

Debra Jean Edwards, age 70, of Chesapeake, Virginia, formerly of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on June 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Debra was known for her warm spirit, creativity, and deep love for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, crocheting, crafting, and sharing laughter with those she loved. Music brought her happiness, especially when dancing to live tunes with friends and siblings. But the time spent with her only daughter and only grandson truly filled her heart.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Brandy Lynn Herrin, and her cherished grandson, Keegan Lee Mullinax. Debra also leaves behind her loving siblings: Janet Ruth Argabright, Saundra Britt Brooker, Judy Britt (George Alfred Britt), and Jerry Lee Britt. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She is reunited in peace with her parents, James Earl Britt, Sr., and Helen Josephine Walker; her sister, Francis Britt Doughtie; and her brother, James Earl Britt, Jr.

A celebration of Debra’s life will be planned at a later date. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in honoring the beautiful legacy she left behind.
