Brandy's Wellness Fund

Donation protected
Please help us raise funds to support this cause.

Have you had a loved one or close friend that suffered from drug or alcohol abuse.  If so you will understand our need.  Until the addict seaks help there is little that can be done. As you read the story below please know that young lady Brandy, is fighting to return sober. so even if you don't know her, please help us if you can.

This fundraiser is to help support the medical expenses and recovery of Brandy J.

I will tell you more about Brandy below, but first let me tell you a bit about me, because if you donate to this fund it is important to know who will administer it and how the funds will be used.

My name is Ned Sanders, I'm a small business owner and father to the exceptional young women, one grandson with another on the way. Brandy and her sister grew up two doors down from our house and were close friends of my daughters. So we all have a special attachment to Brandy. Before I tell you how the funds will be use, let me tell you why we need them.

I'm going to withhold Brandy's last name  to give her some privacy. Believe me when I say her soul and sins have been laid bare for all who know her closely, much more so than I and, I expect most of you reading this, would ever want to happen to us.

Brandy was at times a precocious child. As I recall smarter than most, and one of the leaders of the neighborhood gang of girls. As one of the leaders from time to time she would lead them into doing the wrong thing. She also however, fell on her sword and took the blame for a few things she didn't do, to protect her pack. She and I had our run-ins when the girls were young. but all of it was normal childhood things. She grew up with her Father, Sister, Cousin, and Aunt, and Uncle in a normal house two doors down from ours.

As the girls in gang grew,  their lives went in different directions which is understandable. Even so to this day, with Brandy in her early 30's they all still stay in touch.

Brandy, always marched to her own beat. That beat took her down a path to self destruction. Of course she didn't see it that way, so few who fall the this trap do. As you may have noticed her mother was not in the listed above, Brandy was a child of divorce. (like me) I am not sure when exactly, but recently she began to reconnect with her Mother, and was able to spend a brief time with her before she died, about 9 months ago. Brandy being an anxious soul and just barely getting by, went over the top after the loss of her mother with substance abuse, while also being treated with clinical depression and anxiety. Let's be honest here and say that if she was squeaky clean during the time of her loss, this may not have happened. Her addiction became so severe that like most addicts she lost the support of both friends and family. I had heard some the stories about Brandy but I wasn't really close enough to intervene. Even so. sure that I would have had any effect on the outcome.

Brandy ended up late in August of this year, in a life or death situation with-out any support system. This occurred, almost at my door step. My wife and I are empty nesters, and had the room to take her in. With-in day's it was clear that that Brandy needed professional help to  survive. We sought advice from another young lady who went through a similar situation a year or so ago. Having the means and will to help, we have been able to start the treatment process which Brandy bravely consented to. At the time of this writing she is going through medical detox, that will be followed up with an extensive counseling program to help her to a full recovery. There is follow up work that is available that will require more expense. In order for this young lady to have the proper support we ask for help.... to help us, help her. Oh by the way, that other other young lady who helped us, is clean and sober with-out relapse and on her way to happy productive life as an interior designer.

If you are one of the many friends that Brandy has touched in her life, one of the many who wanted to help her but didn't know how, NOW is your opportunity to do so. Please donate whatever you can. Perhaps you found this post another way, you don't know this soul but would just like to pay-it forward. If so, thank you for your help.

How will the funds be used?

To begin I have set up a separate bank account to receive the funds so they don't get mixed up with any personal finances.

Like I mentioned, the first part of her recovery program has been paid for by My wife and I. It is not cheap but we can manage it if need be.

The treatment program she is involved in is run by CASA Recovery, there may additional phases of treatment that will require more than what has been paid so far. This depends on how the first phase goes. You can learn more about Casa Revovery at http://www.casarecovery.com

1st. Funds will be used to help fund continuing treatment. (See note below)

2nd  Funds will be used for after treatment counseling that may be required. (See note below)

3rd Funds will be used for job training support. (See note below)

4th Funds will be used to re-pay my wife and I for the original treatment program.

5th Any funds that are remaining after the first four items are satisfied will be donated to CASA Recovery, or a similar treatment program to assist with others who need this support.

Please note that the items  1,2, & 3 will be used based Brandy's progress,  willingness get well and be prosperous. Having dealt with addiction of several of my own siblings, I know better than to give money directly to them. So all disbursements will be at my discretion. I ask you to take  a big leap and trust that I will do right by your contribution. I work hard for my income, and know you do as well. Also, please be aware that the fees for this site, wich are low, will be paid first.

The goal is high to hopefully get us completed and also to fullfill item 5 above in a meaning full way.

Thank you taking the time read this plea.

May the wind be always at your back, May your burden be light, May the road rise up to me your feet, May you always reach for the stars while keeping feet firmly planted on solid ground, and most importantly, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand an hour before the devil knows your dead!!!
