Brandy’s Journey: Help Her Keep Fighting
This past year has tested my sister Brandy in ways no one should ever have to endure — yet she continues to face every battle with courage, strength, and a fierce determination to heal.
Earlier this year, Brandy hit the lowest point in her struggle with depression and alcohol addiction. One freezing night, her life was saved by a good Samaritan who found her just in time. She spent weeks in the hospital recovering from severe frostbite — a scary and life-altering experience that forced her to face the reality of where addiction had taken her.
But Brandy made a decision.
A huge, brave, life-changing decision.
She checked herself into addiction treatment and committed fully to her recovery. Today, she is over 10 months sober, and we are unbelievably proud of her.
She is fighting for her future — and she is winning.
As she worked on rebuilding her health, she also faced another long-standing struggle: years of severe pain caused by endometriosis. She underwent major surgery, including a full hysterectomy, to remove extensive scar tissue and growths. Even through the discomfort and the emotional toll of that process, Brandy stayed strong, stayed hopeful, and stayed on her new path forward.
She was finally beginning to see the light — preparing to return to work, regain stability, and rebuild her future.
And then… one more battle arrived.
Brandy has been diagnosed with Stage 2 ovarian cancer.
It was devastating news — but in true Brandy fashion, she didn’t crumble. She cried for a bit, took a deep breath and simply said:
“One more thing I can overcome.”
She is ready to fight. She will fight. But she cannot do it alone.
Because of her medical recovery over the past year, Brandy has been unable to work, and her finances are depleted.
The months ahead will bring chemotherapy, countless appointments, travel expenses, parking fees, rent, quality food to support her body, wigs and headwear for when she loses her hair, and many other everyday costs of simply trying to survive while unable to work for at least 6–7 months.
Anyone who knows Brandy knows how extremely hard it is for her to ask for help. She is grateful for everything that a small select few have done to support her to this point, but she does not want any one person in her life to feel they have to shoulder this burden alone.
So today, we’re asking together:
If you are able to contribute any amount, know that it will make a meaningful difference in her ability to fight this battle without the added weight of financial stress.
Your support will give her the stability to focus on healing…
the strength to stay hopeful…
and the reminder that she is not fighting this alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for reading Brandy’s story.
Thank you for caring.
And thank you for helping my sister keep fighting for the life she has worked so hard to reclaim.
