Brandy Kaiser

Cancer takes the lives of so many people we love and care for. An exceptional woman, someone who has been like a second mother to me, the mom of my two closest friends, has recently been diagnosed with stage 1B HER2 (triple positive), breast cancer. She is scheduled to get her first chemo port this week and her first round of chemo, the week after. She will undergo 12-14 months of chemo and radiation as well as a mastectomy. Prior to the surgery, she will be given 6 extra rounds of chemo. She will also receive 15-30 rounds of radiation post-surgery. In addition to radiation, she will go through 11 rounds of chemotherapy. This news has taken a huge toll on a family that I hold extremely close to my heart. The Kaiser family has been through more than enough tragedy for one lifetime, after losing a brother and son just last year. This family has welcomed me with open arms every moment since I moved here. Mrs. Brandy never failed to be there for my family and I, whether it was supporting us in hard times, watching me when my family was out of town, or if there was a hurricane, or simply giving me a ride. Many families struggle with the financial burden cancer puts on them. As a family with two twin teenage daughters who want to continue their education after high school and a mother recently diagnosed with breast cancer, money is a tough topic of conversation. After how much the Kaisers have done for me, I want to try to help in any way I can. One way I hope to do so is to help relieve them of the financial weight this has taken on them. Money is never something a family wants to worry about when health is involved. Brandy Kaiser deserves any treatment or trial she may need or want, and I would like to do anything in my power to make that possible for this extraordinary family.
