On 10/10 I dropped my sister, Brandy, off at the hospital because she said she was pregnant and having trouble breathing. I dropped her off expecting that I would be back in a few hours to get her... unfortunately that isn't what happened. That night she was transferred to Swedish in Seattle because they were worried her heart was failing. Once there they confirmed that her heart was indeed failing and transferred her to the University of Washington Hospital because they had a cardiac specialist and an OB team. They installed something in her heart to monitor the heart better  and it showed us that her heart was failing . At that point they had given her medications to keep it pumping.  She then received the tragic news that her heart could not handle the pregnancy and her only option was to terminate. It is my personal belief that this little life saved her life. That baby gave her the push to go in and get checked on when she had otherwise been ignoring her symptoms. I will forever be grateful for that little girl. Since that day her heart has been relying on the medications to pump and we received the tragic news that at just 22 my little sister is in heart failure and needs a heart transplant. We're in disbelief, grief stricken, and heartbroken... all of this and we still haven't gotten to the worse part... Brandy has a 5 year old daughter who desperately needs her mommy to be okay. A little girl that asks daily when her mommy is going to be home, who just so desperately wants to hug her mom and she can't even see her because the visiting rules are so strict right now due to covid. 

Now that you know why we're here, here's our plea; if you can donate please do.  The funds will go towards helping Ali and Brandy pay rent and other bills, in addition to food, and whatever other support Brandy might need while in recovery. This is only the beginning of what is going to be a very long road.
