Dearest family & friends,
On Friday, August 28th, my baby sister, Brandy Cook, experienced the unthinkable. She lost her husband. Her best friend. The most amazing father to her children, Caleb and Makaila.
Here's the first public reflection in Brandy's own words:
"A week ago today, my husband walked out the door and said that he would be right back. A short time later, I learned that would never happen. He was gone. And hearing doctors tell me they did everything they could to save his life is a moment that left me clinging to the ground. The pain that I feel is one that guts me each and every day. To see my children’s pain, literally takes my breath. I am without a doubt in the darkest moment of my life and I just ask that you keep me in your prayers. Keep my children in your prayers, speak their names specifically! Thank you to everyone that has reached out to us and extended love during this time."
This unexpected loss has left us all devastated. This unexpected loss has left many different voids. We're aware that there are many voids we won't fully understand right away. Our family, friends and colleagues have rallied around Brandy and the children. We have done our best to fill immediate gaps, but Brandy needs additional support for the many unknowns that are sure to come with such a tragedy.
100% of the funds collected will go to end of life expenses and to support Brandy, Makaila and Caleb as they create their new normal. No amount is too small or too great. We are thankful in advance.
