Brandy Brooks Leukemia Support

Brandy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Friday, September 27th.  Things are moving swiftly to ensure that she is on the path to recovery as soon as possible. Doctors would like to admit Brandy into OHSU late this week or early next week.  They plan to immediately treat her with an intense week of induction chemotherapy, followed by at least three weeks in the hospital for recovery and to build back her immune system and get ready for the next needed treatments. Brandy needs help in paying her day-to-day bills while she undergoes treatment.  She also needs help with the mountain of medical bills that she faces.  Her rent is about $1,350 a month, plus about $300 in utilities.  We are asking for $10,000 to start so she can focus on healing instead of worrying about how she is going to pay her rent.  On top of this, we also need to consider sweet Sebastian and keeping life for him as close to normal as possible as he prepares to be away from her for an extended period of time.   Brandy is the kind of friend and family who is the first to show up with a helping hand in times of need.  It can be uncomfortable for her to ask for this kind of help, but it is in this trying time that she could use support from her large and spread out village.  We thank you for anything you can provide for her today and love is all around.  Blessings to you all, and blessings to Brandy and Sebastian.   You can follow more of Brandy's journey through Caring Bridge .   Thank you, Brandy's Village
