Hi, my name is Laurene, and I’m fundraising for someone who is very special to me. His name is Brandon King, and he is my nephew. Brandon recently has been diagnosed with Lymphoma.

Brandon King was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma on June 9, 2023 (literally on his Moms Birthday) It began in his neck, and prior to his diagnosis it spread to both sides of his neck, his lungs and his diaphragm. He is an officer in the United States Navy and kept getting sick and the doctors kept giving him antibiotics, was flown to Japan, where he was supposed to be out to sea for 2 years, while there he visited the doctors and specialists. After multiple scans and tests it was deemed he needed to be medi-vac back to the United States. He was flown back to his previous duty station, which was San Diego. He was immediately seen by specialists, more scans and a biopsy which concluded a stage 4 Lymphoma diagnosis.

His mother, Peggy Kan Hai, lives on Maui and she will be flying back and forth to assist her son when he has his chemotherapy treatments. (She also has a 5 year old daughter on Maui and this the reason for flying back and forth). His treatments will last for a minimum of six months.

This will cause a huge financial hardship on her and because Brandon has stage 4 cancer, he will be medically discharged from the Navy.

We humbly ask for help for their expenses for travel and medical costs. Anything will help, and if it isn’t possible, we ask for prayers for his recovery and strength for Peggy also!
