Brandon's College Caregiving Fund

Hello everyone, my name is Brandon Cavendish. I was born with a rare genetic disorder known as Spinal Muscle Atrophy type II. This disease confines me to a wheelchair, making me completely dependant upon others to take care of me. Even though I am physically disabled I have not let that stop me. All throughout my education I excelled in academics and was consistently in the top of my class. I am a member of the National Honor Society, attended Mountaineer Boys State among numerous other achievements. I kept a 3.9 GPA all through highschool and was involved in show choir, and choir all throughout school. I am currently enrolled at Marshall University in West Virginia as a freshman Computer Science major.  Computers have always been a passion of mine and I hope to one day make a contribution to the technological society.

     Unfortunately I am unable to recieve any government assistance due to neglegence on their part, making me unable to continue out my year at Marshall University. Currently my mother has been staying on an air mattress in my dorm to assist me for the last semester. This next upcoming semester I will have to leave my new home at Marshall and the university chamber choir behind. 

     In order to continue my much valued education at Marshall University, I must come up with the money myself to pay for a caregiver on top of my tuition. This is why I am desperately asking for your help. If I manage to raise this money I will be able to continue the next semester doing what I love without the assistance of my parents. Giving me plenty of time to work out a more permanent plan for the following year. If I do not recieve the money I require I will donate it to a charity for my disorder.
