It is that time of year again! We will be going to Coffeville later this month  to deliver a check for the Brandon Williams Scholarship Fund. Due to the ongoing generosity of everyone who loved and cared about Brandon, we were able to give out 3 scholarships to some incredible students last year.

Pattavious Turner- He is currently attending  Jackson state. He received the scholarship after earning the highest score  at Coffeeville on the state biology 1 test.
Brianna Ellis- She is also attending Jackson State. She received Brandon's Scholarship after receiving the highest score on the ACT Science subscore. 
Shantica Kincaide- She is attending Alcorn State. She tied with Brianna as the highest scorer on the ACT Science section. 

By now, I'm sure that most of you know Brandon's story. He passed away on November 6, 2014, after a grueling battle with cancer. He handled the battle with strength and courage that was completely amazing. Prior to his diagnosis, he had discovered that his passion was as a teacher and mentor. He moved to Coffeeville, Mississippi as a member of the Mississippi Teaching Corps. He loved his students, and they loved him back. He wanted nothing more than to mold young minds and help them to achieve their goals. It is a tragedy that he was not able to teach and mold more young minds. We hope that this scholarship will help keep his legacy of learning alive at Coffeeville High School for many years to come.
