Brandon Taylor is a family man. He and his wife Jade have three children. Their oldest is Gage. He's ten. Angela is four and little Cash is two. In September, their lives changed and will never be the same. Brandon was having trouble with his vision and then he was experiencing stroke like symptoms. His vision got so bad, he was rushed to ER in Roseburg then was sent to OHSU. At first, it was thought to be a tumor in his brain, but tests revealed it was a cavernoma vascular mass. That simply put is a mass of blood vessels, there they don't belong, in his brain.
It's rare that this causes problems. Often, they can be completely asymptomatic. When they do bleed, however, it can cause severe damage. That is what happened in Brandon's case. He has lost significant amount of vision in both eyes. There are blood clots on the brain stem. He has weakness on one side of his body. It's uncertain if he will be ever be able to return to his job.
The mass is inoperable. It is located in a spot that makes it too risky. The risk of surgery is that he could be completely blind and paralyzed, if he were to survive at all. There is a real possibility that it could start to bleed again at any time and there is no way to keep that from happening or stopping the bleeding if it does.
Jade is working part-time but the loss of Brandon's income has the family behind in their bills. the medical costs after what the insurance pays are piling up. Brandon is especially upset after all that has happened, that his family won't be able to afford Christmas.
We all know how this kind of stress causes problems with healthy people. Our GoFundMe campaign's hope is to relieve as much stress as possible, so Brandon can focus on recovering and returning to work if he is able. We want to help Jade be home to help him with his recovery. We also hope to raise enough to help with their late bills. And we want to help this family have Christmas. Please during this season of giving, help the Taylor family celebrate this holiday season so they can have happy memories they will always cherish.
