Brandon Isaiah Rouse-Spinal Cord Injury
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Tracie and Brandon Isaiah Rouse is my son. You all call him Isaiah. I call him my baby, as no matter how young or old, he’ll always be my baby. On November 2nd, my baby was the innocent victim of anonymous gunmen. Isaiah was shot in the back after the gunmen sprayed the area Isaiah was in with rapid and aimless gunfire that killed one young person, and seriously injured others including Isaiah. At the time, Isaiah, had just arrived and gotten out of his car to simply try to enjoy a night out with family at a community block party in Sanford, FL. In an instant, Isaiah’s life, as well as his entire family’s lives was changed forever.
Currently, my son is unable to walk. The bullet entered his back and is lodged in his spine causing paraplegia - paralysis from his waist to his feet, with loss of sensation and control. The doctors believe leaving the bullet in his spine is the wisest choice for him because removing it (at this time) could cause further damage or even death due to leaking spinal fluid. Our other concern is that the bullet does not move any further on its own causing increased damage.
Due to the severity of Isaiah’s injuries and on-going medical attention needed to help and support him, we are in immediate and desperate need of money to help with the current and unforeseen medical expenses, that include, medical transport from Sanford to Pensacola as Isaiah will now be moving home with me for future care and support.
Funds raised will not only be used for his personal care, but more urgently, his continued medical treatment at West FL Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Program.
Right now, Isaiah, is in intensive care and working towards further stabilization and healing with the goal of moving him to short-term inpatient rehabilitation that will prepare him for relocation and medical transport to my home in Pensacola.
As you can try to imagine, Isaiah’s recovery process is not only extremely expensive with limited insurance coverage, but we were not at all prepared for this type of life-changing experience in ANY way - NONE of us.
Isaiah is only 25-years-old and has four young children ages 5 and under. They love Isaiah so much and still need their dad in their lives as healthy and participatory as he possibly can be.
This fund will help Isaiah and our family during this time of need and will be used primarily for relocation, medical transport, medical bills, medical equipment, transportation, lodging and food (while I am staying in a hotel and driving 15 miles to his hospital each day), as well as support for his 4 young children.
Thank you for your donations, prayers, and positive affirmations.
With Much Gratitude,
Isaiah’s Mother- Tracie Nicole (Rouse) McCreary & Family
