Brandon Gunderson 35, of Sauk Rapids is a father of three beautiful children. Hattie 8, Brantley 7, and Barrett (Bear) 4. He is self-employed and has his own company, Gunderson Plumbing. Brandon is the only child of Ken and Bonnie Gunderson.
On September 14th Brandon and his friends were camping and enjoying a beautiful day riding on a popular ATV trail converted from an old railroad line. The front wheel caught on the edge of the tar and the Side by Side rolled multiple times. Brandon and the driver were thrown from the side by side and sustained multiple injuries.
Brandon was taken by ambulance to the local emergency room and then later air lifted to North Memorial Hospital ICU. One of the main veins in his leg was bleeding out and needed to be addressed first. He underwent surgery and fortunately the doctors were able to repair the vein and tendons, however he will need further surgeries to repair his knee.
Brandon has a head injury/ open wound as well as has three cracked vertebrae in his lower back. The Neurosurgeons are currently assessing his head injury/open wound and informed his family that he will need to be in a brace for at least four months for his back injury. We are hoping he will be transferred out of ICU today and placed in the Trauma unit.
Brandon has a challenging road ahead of him. Please consider donating whatever you can to help with the enormous costs he will be facing from the hospital stay, medical bills and loss of income from his business while he recovers.
Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
