Brandon Engram JR (BJ)

Hi my name is Carla Burney, it is with deep sadness that Brandon Engram Jr (Bj) lost His fight after having a heart transplant at the age of 18 months. Bj was the first heart transplant patient and the first to ever get the mechanical Berlin heart in Kansas City Missouri at children’s mercy hospital. April 29 2015 BJ was given a second chance at life and received his brand new heart from a unknown donor. Over the years BJ has thrived he has lived he’s played basketball played the drums had great times with his cousins and enjoyed every second of his life. At the end of November bj was admitted to the children’s medical center in Dallas Texas where we received the news that he was in the ICU and his body was rejecting his heart. Three weeks later Saturday December 16th BJ gained his wings and went home to be with the lord. Unfortunately BJ mother was not prepared for this loss as his family and we are asking for any help possible to get BJ back to Wichita Kansas and give him a proper home going. We have an update . Although we have gone pass the funeral date and was able to lay our sweet boy to rest, we are still a few thousand shy of funeral expenses and paying the mortuary off. We also have to get his mother and sister back to Texas ao they can return back to the “reality” of life and his sister can go back to school. We also still need to help his mom out as she has been off work since November when bj first became sick and admitted to the hospital: anything helps and please continue to pray for my family.
