On March 5, 2025, I went to the hospital after experiencing some minor pain in my side—something I never imagined would change my life forever. After a series of tests, doctors determined that I had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), an aggressive form of blood cancer. My white blood cell count was alarmingly high—over 241,000 compared to the normal range of 4,000–11,000.

I was immediately transferred to the ICU at St. Luke’s Medical Center, where my medical team started treatment right away. To quickly reduce my dangerously high white blood cell count, I underwent an urgent procedure called Leukocytapheresis. Soon after, I began an intensive chemotherapy regimen known as Hyper-CVAD, which required long hospital stays and countless hours of treatment.

I now have to undergo a bone marrow transplant with more chemotherapy leading up to the transplant. The transplant is being done in hopes that the leukemia doesn’t return later in life.

This journey has been overwhelming—physically, emotionally, and financially. The constant hospital visits and treatments have made it impossible for me to return to work, leaving my fiancée’s income as our only means of support. While we are doing everything we can to stay afloat, the mounting medical bills, travel expenses, and daily living costs have become an enormous challenge.

I am turning to this community for help.
