Brandon’s Medical Expenses

Our dude needs our help. He fought me tooth and nail not to make this fundraiser for him, but at the end of the day, this is exactly what this platform is for....

Several months ago Brandon had to have an emergency Appendectomy. Everything seemed to have gone well, thank goodness because this was Brandon's first surgery, and as most of us can relate, it's scary... Just a few months later, at the end of 2021, now He was having weird chest pains and stomach problems. He went to a few doctors to see what the issue was… they said they thought the chest pains could be panic attacks and Gallstones (stomach issues) but they were not sure having surgery to have it removed would get rid of all his symptoms.

 

Well just like any normal person would, He started to get nervous. Here he had just had his first surgery less than 6 months ago, now they think he needed another surgery and don’t know for sure it would fix the problem. The doctors picked up on him being concerned and said that he should take something for anxiety..... You all know he’s hard headed. He’s even weird about taking Tylenol because he hates pills but he was given an anxiety pill and decided to take it. He only took it for a month but it during that time it caused his pulse to shoot up rapidly, heart rate to be extremely elevated and he went to the emergency room 3-4 times not knowing what was the cause. He was told typically anxiety meds lower blood pressure and heart rate but that was not the case for him. When he finally figured out it was the pill causing it, He asked if he could stop taking it. He was told he could and that there shouldn’t be any complications. Since then he’s experienced Headaches, blurred vision, dizziness and pain in his back and spine to name a few..

 

He has since been to a number of doctors and still no real answers or “cure”. As some of you know that is a scary place to be! Because of Covid, doctors have been extremely hard to get into. Two important appointments he has been waiting on for 3 weeks got cancelled because of weather. A few of the doctors have been helpful, others completely dismissive and he is trying desperately to get into the right doctors to help him.

 

He hasn't been able to work and his mom used all her vacation time and has been off work on fmla unpaid for a month and a half helping along.... As you can imagine, no mother wants to see their kid in pain, and will do anything to help, but this has caused a massive financial burden. Neither of them can go back to work until they figure out what’s going on with Brandon and that make sure he is going to be ok. Not only is he struggling physically and mentally but now add financially to it as well, and that would be a lot for anyone to handle. As you probably can imagine regular bills are piling up and so are medical ones while he still doesn’t have any solid answers. 

 

This is our dude, and we have to help him out... As I have once experienced, when I had my motorcycle wreck. The power of support, love and generosity goes a just as far as any financial offerings... Just knowing you are surrounded by people willing, and happy to help you out in time of need is unexplainable...

 

I know for a FACT, that if roles were reversed, Brandon would be not only by my side, helping me every step of the way, but all of yours too... Let's help this humble dude out!
