My name is Brandi Bell. I am a single mom living in Oakland, CA with my 13-year-old daughter. We lost our home of over 12 years in October of 2024. Since then, I have been doing everything possible to provide stability and housing for us, but I need help.

We are currently unhoused and living in a rented car. I am trying to raise $6000 so I can buy the car, rent an apartment, and provide for my daughter. “I was Brandi’s neighbor for many years and we endured a lot together related to our apartment building. When the new owner bought the building we had a lot of hope that our living conditions would improve but instead we lived through 2 years of constant construction that was very loud and messy and chaotic. Our concerns were not taken seriously and we were treated with disregard and disrespect from our landlord and the construction workers. Brandi had it worse than most of us because of the location of her unit and the fact that she worked from home. It was an extremely stressful and difficult time for all of us in the building. Brandi did a lot to try to improve things for all of us and to fight for our rights as tenants.”
