Branding for TheNwothm

TheNwothm.com is a site dedicated to all things NWOTHM – news, reviews, interviews, and everything in between. I first launched the site back in 2023, built purely from a passion for the music and a desire to support and celebrate the bands flying the flag for traditional heavy metal, no matter their size or where they’re from.

I covered the initial setup costs myself, got the site up and running, and threw myself into it – emailing bands, reaching out to labels, and doing whatever I could to get TheNwothm off the ground. Over time, other writers and metalheads from around the world joined the team, all of us united by the same love for heavy metal. And from there, the site just kept growing.

Now in 2025, we’re bigger than ever – and continuing to grow every day.

From day one, the focus has always been the music. We’ve never been in it for the money. Whatever little income the site has generated so far has gone straight back into keeping it alive – paying for hosting, domain costs, and general upkeep. It’s been made possible through the support of fans and a bit of advertising here and there. The goal has always been to keep it self-sufficient, so we can stay focused on what matters: writing about the music we love.

We’re now moving into a new phase – developing a proper identity for the site. We're looking to raise funds for a fresh piece of artwork that will include a proper logo and branding that reflects what TheNwothm stands for. Something strong, memorable, and worthy of the music we champion.

I’ve got a fantastic artist in mind whose style really fits what we’re going for. With the new branding in place, we’d love to explore the idea of merch – not just as a way to spread the word, but also as another means of helping the site stay self-sufficient. Any money raised beyond our initial goal will go straight back into the site to cover ongoing costs and support future improvements.
