Unforgettable Copy has been in our family for the past 11yrs.  She has carried my daughters through western pleasure events, english events, jumping and now she is a top Barrel Racing mare.  She has taken two of my daughters, Taylor and Brandi Schnitkey into the top ten three times at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in youth and just last year won the 13 & Under youth barrels at Congress.  This year she was to be under the guidence of my youngest daughter Grace Schnitkey, it was their turn to shine.  They were going to enter in poles and barrel classes all summer preparing for another shot at the Congress top ten.  All of those dreams were shattered on March 19th.  Unforgettable contracted the EHV-1 virus which presented itself as EHM in her.  

EHV-1 myeloencephalopathy (EHM) results from widespread vascular or blood vessel injury after damage to the lining of the blood vessels of the blood brain barrier. Neurologic signs result from inflammation of the blood vessles, blood clots, and death of of neurologic tissue.

She can not walk unassisted.  We hope and pray that we can continue care at MSU with your help or we will be forced to put Unforgettable at risk of further injury trying to transport her home safely.  Stepping in and out of a trailer at this time will cause her to fall down, risking head injury and limb injury.  Time is what she needs, time to regain more strength to be able to come home safely.

Long term rehab at home and with multiple types of therapy she will regain 100% mobility.  Will I ever have another Congress win?  I do not care.  Will I fight to give this mare her chance to be a mother and provide my daughters with the joy of watching her babies grow.  YES!  Please help us in any way that you can.
