Branden's Struggle Against Aplastic Anemia & CVID
Donation protected
Hello, we are Branden's family sincerely asking for your help with his cause. Starting with extreme psoriasis, Branden has struggled with ongoing health problems for several years. It took many doctors and time to figure out exactly why he was struggling and what he was struggling with. He has gone to countless doctors and specialists to try and figure out what it was. In the past 18 months, they have discovered he has 2 very extreme and rare diseases.
Aplastic Anemia is a very rare blood disorder (1-2 cases out of a million people) that can only be resolved by bone marrow transplant. If not treated aplastic anemia can sometimes increase the risk of developing leukemia. Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood cells. (Common Variable Immunodeficiency) affects approximately 1 in 50,000 people. CVID is an immune system disorder that impairs the immune system. Branden has both of these issues and there are only 7 known cases like his in the nation.
To fix his health and well-being, he will have two weeks of chemotherapy to rid his body of the malignant blood cells in his bone marrow. Then he will undergo a bone marrow transplant from an unknown donor. We are expecting him to begin the transplant process on September 12, 2023. He is expected to stay in the hospital for 6-8 weeks after that, and then start his road to recovery in the next 6 months. Blood and platelet transfusions will also be necessary as well as bi-weekly hospital visits for checkups for the next 6 months.

Branden is an art major at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Unfortunately, his doctors have advised him that he will have to take at least a year off school because of his health. He can hopefully return by the Fall of 2024. Rooted in his love of creating, he's always been passionate about lego, sculpting and drawing. He draws inspiration from his favorite anime shows and constantly works to increase his proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Japanese.

Your generous contribution will go towards medical bills, ongoing treatments and his future recovery. Every dollar raised will make a tangible difference towards Branden's health and well being. Thanks so much for being a part of Branden's support team! Your kindness, prayers and contributions are invaluable as we lift him up and surround him with positivity and strength.
Sincerely Yours,
Branden's Family
