Braintree Confirmation Class 2023 Service Project

Dear Friends,

Many thanks to all of you who contributed to our Confirmation Class project. With your generous donations of goods and funds, both in Church and online, we more than exceeded our expectations! We are now beginning the process of sorting through all our donations and packing up the boxes to send to our service members. We are deeply grateful for your support and thank you for taking the time to invest - literally and figuratively - in our Confirmation students and our troops!

My name is Michelle Parker and I am one of the Confirmation teachers for St. Francis and St. Clare's 2023 Confirmation class. I have created this site to help our students who are working on their group service project, and they need your help! Your contribution of money or supplies makes a difference. Monetary contributions cover the considerable cost of overseas postage, and to purchase items that do not get donated. A list of suggested items for troops is shown below.

Their project will provide care packages to members of the U.S. Military - a service no longer provided by the Department of Defense. Our students are very excited for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our service members during the very challenging time of an overseas deployment.

Physical goods (food, hygiene, etc.) may be dropped off at at any Mass. If you are unable to bring the goods to Mass, please bring them to the St. Francis of Assisi rectory in Braintree from Monday through Friday, 9 am – 3 pm. Monetary donations can be made on this site, or by checks payable to St. Francis of Assisi Church or St. Clare Church, with the memo line made out to “Military Care Packages.” Checks can be given to the students to bring to class or can be placed in the collection basket at either church. Remember, be sure to clearly fill out the check's memo line as noted above. There is no need to identify the student you are supporting on the check or via your online donation.
