Brain tumor diagnosis

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Tracy, Candice's mom. With the encouragement of so many looking to help out, I decided to start a gofundme for my daughter who will incur some unexpected financial expenses.

My daughter was in a car accident 1st week of January and her car was totaled by the other driver who was in her lane. Needless to say, she was pretty shook up by the impact. Despite much encouragement, she decided not to go to the emergency room until the next morning when she woke up crying with excruciating neck pain. Dr ordered a ct scan and based on that as well as his physical assessment she was diagnosed with severe whiplash/cervical trauma from the accident. Dr said he "saw something" on her ct scan and then ordered an mri with and without contrast which had confirmed their suspicion. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was told it was a very large tumor and it's location is rare and in a "tight spot" (posterior fossa). Whether the tumor is cancerous or not, it needed to be removed because of its size and dangerous location. Since then, as you could imagine, life has been crazy busy with drs appts etc. She just had her surgery on March 1st at Penn Medicine Hospital in Philadelphia. Her tumor was sent for pathology and she'll know for sure what grade tumor it is within 10-12 days.

Although it's been difficult to see her in so much pain from the car accident, we believe wholeheartedly The Lord allowed this for a purpose...one of which was to reveal the fact that she had a brain tumor. For those wondering, she had a few symptoms over the last 2 years which no one could find a cause for and so now we have answers. We're thankful to God for these answers.

Candice is a hardworking CNA and a single mom of 2 children, 1 of which is an adult age 20 and her daughter age 9. Thankfully she has medical insurance but because of a few other surgeries she's had over the last 2 years and a full month she was out of work with Covid and pneumonia, she's just about exhausted her sick time; since she only acrues 2 hours of sick time each pay period (every 2 weeks). She has enough to cover just under 2 weeks but has short term disability to cover 60% of her income but once her 2 weeks of sick time is exhausted, she'll only have her short term disability and at some point will need to pay out of pocket for her premiums to continue her health insurance until she's able to return to work. Right now her neurosurgeon said she'll be out for at least 8 weeks.

Every dollar helps and is so much appreciated. While we understand many are not in a position to give financially, we certainly appreciate everyone who has given in others ways simply by reaching out and helping in any way they can and especially those of you who are praying. We also truly appreciate your kind words of encouragement.

It would mean so much if you would consider sharing this with others. ❤
