Brain surgery recovery is brutal

Donation protected
Meet my friend John Umholtz. John is a native Tulsan who grew up in both the Jenks and Broken Arrow communities. You might recognize him, as he is a very well-known Framing contractor who has built literally hundreds of houses throughout the metro area over the past 37 years. John had a reputation of being the "best of the best" when it came to the quality he delivered in the products that he framed..... because that's just who John is. Right now, John could use a little help. He's not looking for handouts and quite honestly will probably call me a few select of names for setting up this account on his behalf, but it is what it is. He won't be able to go this alone. So here it is ......

John is an intelligent, "sometimes" quiet and extremely hardworking Christian, father, leader and friend. He's been my "Ace" go to guy on our construction projects for the last 27 years and he's in trouble. He's never asked for help...... it's just not who he is......so I've taken it upon myself to reach out for him.

On Thursday, June 29, John experienced a brain bleed caused by an Arteriovenous Malformation or AVM..... in simple terms, an aneurysm of the lower brainstem. My understanding is that it was something he was born with and never knew he carried until it knocked him out of bed and to his knees. After nearly 4 weeks in the hospital recovering from multiple surgeries/procedures John was able to return home on Thursday, July 27. His speech and mobility have both been affected and his recovery is going to be the most challenging couple of months of his life. Anyone that knows John knows that he will take this in stride and will fight to have a full recovery but it will take time. Unfortunately, time will be working against John from a financial standpoint in that he will not be able to return to work for sometime. As you can imagine, no work means no income.

John doesn't have insurance. Obamacare "may" be an option for him in the coming months but that won't help with the hospital bills he'll soon be recieving. Those are expected to be several hundreds of thousands dollars And he will be faced with those challenges going forward as well.

I've offered my financial support in whatever capacity I can but that will only scratch the surface. So here's the plan. I'm reaching out to you, to "anyone", who can help us support his immediate financial distress. Any funds raised here will not only help satisfy his current living/operating/survival expenses but will additionally help in offsetting a small portion of his eminent surgeries/hospital expenses down the road.

I know it's still some months away but the Christmas Season is just around the corner and maybe folks could consider doing this ....... "Prayerfully" think about cutting back "a little" on gifts for family members and friends and consider helping out a total stranger, "acquaintance" or friend with $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 .... Whatever you "can do" will be graciously appreciated. I know you'll feel GREAT in sharing too, knowing that you've helped ease a worry, relieved some burden or allowed for some simple "hope"....... Who knows, we may even help John Recover faster without the stress of worry?

If you can't share financially, please add John and his family to your prayer list at church, include him in your daily prayers or just stop and think to yourself that "I hope he recieves healing, answers and support"..... It'll go a long, long way I promise! Further help would be greatly appreciated in spreading the word about this effort through Social Media outlets too, so PLEASE share it with other's if you feel it worthy!

Many Thanks for your consideration and God's Peace!
