Brain Surgery - Genevieve Hartman

Donation protected
My precious niece Genevieve was diagnosed with Fibrous Dysplasia.  Fibrous Dysplasia is an uncommon bone disorder in which scar-like (fibrous) tissue develops in place of normal bone. In most parts of the body this is easy to treat with a simple surgery.  However, for Gen, they noticed changes in her skull.  During an eye appointment they noticed swelling on the optic nerve.  There is no easy surgery for this.  Untreated this could cause vision problems or even blindness.

She began experiencing vision changes which started a couple weeks ago and the doctors are moving quickly.

Gen will have two surgeries (one for each optic nerve). Each surgery should take about 6 hours and she'll have them on back to back days staying in the ICU for two nights. These surgeries are invasive as it involves moving her brain and removing bone that is currently putting pressure on her optic nerves. She should be in the hospital for a week total and be back to "normal" within a month.
Surgery is scheduled for Thursday and Friday (September 24th/25th).

There are a lot of unknowns right now and I wanted to start this to support their immediate needs and future medical bills. Any amount will be a blessing to them.  If you would like to support them with gift cards please look for the amazon list I've created.  It will ship straight to them!!
